Bringing the San Diego Symphony to Carnegie Hall

This October, Payare and the San Diego Symphony make a three-stop US tour, culminating in a performance at Carnegie Hall. The New York performance marks the orchestra’s first appearance at the hall in a full decade.

The tour program includes Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, featuring MacArthur award winner Alisa Weilerstein; the New York premiere of Wake Up: A Concerto for Orchestra, an SDS commission from Carlos Simon; and Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony. Stops on the tour include Soka Peforming Arts Center (Aliso Viejo, CA; October 6), Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA; October 12), and Carnegie Hall (New York, NY; October 13). The orchestra also presents the program for its home audience at San Diego’s Rady Shell on October 7.
