Orchestre symphonique de Montréal to Tour Europe in November 2024

Mar 4, 2024

In November, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) is set to embark on its 59th international tour, its 17th in Europe. This eight-concert tour will also be the OSM’s fourth one under Music Director Rafael Payare, following tours in South Korea, Europe, and the United States in 2022–23.

The tour, which runs November 19–30, brings the orchestra to London, Luxembourg, Paris, Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Munich, and Vienna. Pianist Daniil Trifonov joins in his second tour with the OSM, following an acclaimed 2016 run in the United States. Trifonov will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Schumann’s sole Piano Concerto. Also on the program will be Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique and Richard Strauss’s Alpine Symphony (Eine Alpensinfonie).

“It is a tremendous privilege to be returning to Europe with the OSM and to spotlight our local culture on major European stages alongside virtuoso pianist Daniil Trifonov,” says Payare. “With every tour, we bring our Montreal flair to the world’s most prestigious venues, and we are infinitely touched each time by their music lovers’ warm reception.”
