Available May 6: Shostakovich’s Eleventh Symphony

In February 2020, Music Director Rafael Payare led the San Diego Symphony in a live performance of Shostakovich’s searing Eleventh Symphony, “The Year 1905.” Now that performance – their last concert together before the pandemic lockdowns – is due for release by Platoon on May 6. The album marks Platoon’s first title to feature an American orchestra and the first commercial recording of Payare’s career.
